FINDING THE POWER OF GOD

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who  are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God"  (I Cor. 1:17).

There are many who are looking to find the power of God in many ways.  Some go to seminars, conferences, and other meetings to find the power of God.  Any time you worship and praise God, and are in the teaching of the Word of God good things are bound to happen. Looking at most of the things that we find and declare are the power of God are mostly outward things.  These are the temporal works of the Spirit.  Don't get me wrong.  These are important.  However, the eternal  works of the Spirit are on the inside of us, and they are much more important.  That is why Paul said, "now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us" (Eph. 3:20).

Paul also declared that for Christians, "Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God" (I Cor. 1:24).  Christ is now our life and the dynamo power source on the very inside of Christians.  As Christians, we live by the resurrection life and power of the Lord Jesus Christ in us.

The other half of this is the message of the cross.  For the message of the cross also is "the power of God" (I Cor. 1:17).  No wonder Paul determined not to know anything but "Jesus Christ and Him crucified" (I Cor. 2:2). That is where the wisdom of God is. "The power of God" is resident right there (I Cor. 2:5).  Look where you want on the outside. The genuine truth that Christ and your mind renewed to the truth of the message of the cross on the inside of you is the resident area to find the power of God! V
