PROMISE BEFORE TIME BEGAN

". . .in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began" (Titus 1:2).

Our eternal heavenly Father before the foundation of the world wanted to have sons that He could fellowship with.  Even before Satan or any of the angels were created, God knew that Satan would fall and have to be cast out of heaven.  God created man in His divine will to be the sons to have a love fellowship and a son to Father relationship with Him. Our heavenly Father is a just God, and he did not want us to serve Him like a puppet, so He did give us a will and a mind to make decisions.  Our heavenly Father wanted us to make the choice to have that love fellowship with Him, or not.

Our Father chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world (Eph. 1:4).  Why?  Jesus Christ is our Father's eternal express image of Himself (Hebr. 1:3).  Our Father spoke his eternal Word in the beginning (John 1:1).  This eternal Word became the visible image of the invisible God and Father of all (Col. 1:15).  Through Jesus Christ, the spoken word of the Father, He created everything in this visible universe (Col. 1:16; John 1:3).  Our heavenly Father chose Jesus Christ, His Son, to be the eternal life source for all time and eternity.  So, our Father chose us to be in Christ before time began, so that we would have the surety of eternal life, and could do nothing on our part to lose it.  Our heavenly Father has provided us eternal life, not based on anything we do or don't do, but strictly based on the promise of total 100% fulfillment in Himself and in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

When we were placed in Christ before the foundation of the world.  Everyone would be totally secure in and with His eternal life. They just simply had to make the Holy Spirit convicted choice to believe and willingly receive Him with their own personal choice. When we were placed in Christ, before time began, in His heart and mind the Lamb was also slain before time began, so that it was sure that our eternal salvation was eternally secure in Him (Rev. 13:8; I Pet. 1:20).  Yes, the Lamb was slain and we has eternal life secured by our heavenly Father in Christ, a promise before time began.  Yes, even before Satan or any angel was created.  Yes, long before Adam was formed and made and committed the original sin and fell.  Our heavenly Father, had already preordained an eternal plan to have us eternally secure in Christ with His own promise before time began!

Our heavenly Father's promise is an eternally secure eternal life.  It is "incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away" (I Pet. 1:4).  You can't do anything to mess things up or lose it.  If eternal life ever changed, deviated, or could be lost, how could God's word honestly state it to be eternal life?  I'll let God's word of eternal life stand as truth, and every contrary doctrine and teaching of man and religion stand as a lie. Our eternally heavenly Father was working in and through Christ reconciling the world to Himself (II Cor. 5:19). That is why Jesus could say, it was the Father in Him speaking, living, and doing the works (John 14:7-10).  Jesus lived by the life of another living in Him as Him.  When we are born again, we also live by the life of another in us.  Christ in us the hope of glory (Col. 1:27).  Christ is now living in us as us to be our eternal life source, and fulfill the Father's promise before time began!
