SPEAKING BOLDLY OF THE MYSTERY

"And for me that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel"  (Eph. 6:19).

Paul realizes that this is the whole purpose of putting on the whole armor of God and praying with all manner of prayer for all of the saints (Eph. 6:10-18).  It is so that he may be open and boldly make known the mystery of the gospel, which is Christ in us the hope of glory (Col. 1:27).  Let's face reality.  Satan doesn't care how much religious activity that you do.  Listen to me carefully here. Satan ultimately doesn't care that you read your Bible or even pray, as long as you still try to live a separate life with your mind still operating out of the knowledge of good and evil.  Remember, that is what Satan got Adam to do in the very beginning.  The original Adamic sin against God, was to believe Satan's lying deception and choose to use (or eat) of the knowledge of good and evil.  That original sin separated Adam from God in the beginning.  Living out of and by the knowledge of good and evil in exclusion of the truth of the mystery of the gospel, is the very key thing that Satan uses today to rob the Church of the liberating secret of truth.  The liberating secret and mystery of the gospel is that our Father put Christ in us to live His resurrection life in and through in this world today.  We live by the life of another.  Paul wasn't saying mere idle words when he declared, "It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me" (Gal. 2:20).

Paul spoke boldly and said that it was his intent "to make all people see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God, who created all things through Jesus Christ"  (Eph. 3:9).  Paul spoke boldly and  said, "I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God" (Col. 1:25).  Then Paul spoke boldly about the mystery that had been hidden from every previous age  and people that God now had revealed to his saints (Col. 1:26).  Paul preached, warned and taught every man in all wisdom to know the truth of the mystery that they are in Christ (Eph. 1:4), and that Christ is in them (Col. 1:27).  Out of this shared-life the Christ-life, Christ would live in us as us to do the will of the Father.

God want us to speak boldly of the mystery to encourage one another in the liberating secret of this mystery.  God wants us to encourage one another so that we will know and live this truth spontaneously.  God also wants this manifold wisdom to be made known to the church, so they can be the bold instruments to sound it out to all the principalities and powers of Satan (Eph. 3:10).  Every bit of this is according to our Father's eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord (Eph. 3:11).  For in Christ we can have all boldness and access to the Father in all confidence through every sliver of faith that is all in, by, and through Christ and His finished work of the cross!
