THE THRONE OF GRACE

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need"  (Hebr. 4:16).

Our Heavenly Father has chosen, called, and saved us to be sons in His family.  Our Father wants us to be able to enter into His presence for fellowship and prayer.   How do we come to the throne of grace and into His presence? First, we must have Holy Spirit renewed minds to properly comprehend what these things are all about.  We are talking about coming boldly to the throne of grace.  Grace indicates that there is nothing that we can be or do on our part to achieve the access.  Throne indicates that this exalted position is in the presence of Almighty God.  We are exhorted to come boldly, not in the flesh or in an arrogant manner, but in the confidence that we have in and through Christ.

"Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus" (Hebr. 10:19).  Christ's shed blood has fully justified us and believing in Him imputes His righteousness to us in the eyes of our Heavenly Father.  By the blood of Jesus we can boldly enter in to the throne of grace.  The sacrificial one time offering of the body of Jesus has sanctified us, and believing in Him imputes His holiness to us in the eyes of our Heavenly Father.  We come boldly to the throne of grace, strictly by the merits of the 100% finished  work of Christ crucified.  Since our Spirit rebirthing, we now have Christ – the Mediator living inside of us (Hebr. 9:15). Christ is omnipresent in every member of the Body of Christ, while simultaneously interceding with the Father in heaven (Rom. 8:34). Christ is our Advocate with the Father (I John 2:1).  In this new shared life in Christ, we can come into the presence of our Father – by Christ living in and expressed through us.

Our Heavenly Father has placed Christ in us in fullness in the Spirit.  We are complete in Him (Col. 2:9-10), including the full access and ability to come boldly to the throne of grace.   Through Christ, "we both have access by one Spirit to the  Father" (Eph.  2:18). The Spirit of Christ brings unity of the Spirit and allows us to communicate with the Father.
We have access and communication to and from the throne of grace through our Lord Jesus Christ.  The Father has committed all judgment to the Son (John 5:22).  All authority in heaven and earth is given to the Son (Matt. 28:18).  Christ actually becomes our throne of grace! V
