PASSION

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.  And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him" (Col. 3:16-17).

What is your passion?  Where do you want to spend your time and energies? As we live life, we need to know our passion is in life.   Paul's passion was to make all men know the revelation of the mystery of Christ that was in him (Eph. 3:9).  The Holy Spirit revelation of Christ in him and him in Christ had completely revolutionized his life. When Paul learned that liberating secret of the awesome love and grace of God in Christ, he was overwhelmed with such a passion, that he could do no less than fully give his life to preaching the truth of this gospel.  Paul also knew and said, that his Heavenly Father "is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was kept secret since the world began, but now has been made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith –" (Rom. 16:25-26).  If there has ever been a time where the Church should rise up with passion and preach Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery of Christ in you the hope of glory (Col. 1:27), it is today!

Our passion should be to introduce people to the Lord Jesus Christ.  We should have a passion to tell them of the glorious grace provided through Jesus Christ our Lord, who went to the cross and paid for our sins through his shed blood and crucified body.  The spotless Lamb of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, has eternally paid for all our sins, in order that we might freely be saved and Spirit-birthed as sons to our Heavenly Father. We should tell them, that they are saved by the resurrected Lord of glory, who now lives in them to be their very life (Rom. 5:10).  Yes, we are saved by the life of the Son living in us as us (I John 5:11-12).  Our Heavenly Father loved us so much, that while we were ungodly sinners, Christ died for us (Rom. 5:8).  Christ has now reconciled us to the Father, and through Spirit birthing, provides us eternal life to have a personal son relationship with the Father.  Through Christ we now can have a love fellowship with our Heavenly Father.  Marvelous grace and eternal praise within us should cause such love and passion to well up within our hearts.  How can we do any less than share this with passion to others in word and in deed with all love and grace? (Col. 3:16-17). V
